Online OECD Tax Seminar (October, 2nd): Digital Economy and Digital Taxation

The Tax Programme at the OECD Korea Policy Centre (KPC), held an online international tax seminar via Zoom from October 18 (Tuesday) to 20 (Thursday), 2022, in collaboration with the OECD.

Under the theme of “digital economy and digital taxation”, the seminar explained the core concepts of digital tax (Pillar 1 and Pillar 2), which have been actively discussed internationally, and the VAT taxation of digital services. In line with the expansion of the digital economy, the seminar provided lectures on the internationally agreed method of charging and collecting VAT on digital transactions.

The international tax seminar, which was held online, was attended by about 100 tax officials from 23 non-OECD countries. OECD trainers included Mr. Vegard Holmedahl (OECD), Mr. Thomas Ecker (OECD), Mr. Andrea Sollecito (OECD), Ms. Maria Saccomanni (OECD), Mr. Martin Wright (UK), Ms. Suriyanti Esa (Malaysia), and Mr. Bruno Farinha (ADB).
