The Tax Programme of the OECD Korea Policy Centre (KPC) hosted Knowledge Exchange Training Programme (KETP) for the tax officers of the Uzbekistan State Tax Committee in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, 12-14 October, 2022. The programme addressed the issue of the double taxation treaty, transfer pricing, and Korea’s tax administration policy experience.

The seminar covered topics of bilateral tax treaties, BEPS, Multilateral Convention (MLI), Transfer Pricing Investigation, and Transfer Pricing Mutual Agreement. A proposal was made during the seminar mainly on the measures to prevent duplication of work and improve the efficiency of the International Taxation Organization.

The programme was attended by approximately 20 tax officials from the Uzbekistan State Tax Committee. It was led by the experts including Mr. Kyeongkuen Lee, Mr. Jeonghong Kim, Mr. Tom Balco(OECD), Mr. Jongho Bang, and Mr. Jongho Jin. By organizing lecturers with practical experience and explaining the relevant cases of Korea in detail, it is expected that the seminar would be helpful for the Tax Administration of Uzbekistan to introduce and operate related systems in the future.
